Does anyone remember that movie that came out a while ago called “Michael” with John Travolta and Andie MacDowell? Remember the “Pie Song”? It made the simple, yet profound, statement, “Pie. Pie. I love pie!” What more needs to be said? It's straightforward and to the point. With a minimum of words.

There are so many ways to bake a pie. So many ingredients. You can make fruit pies until the cows come home. Or, there are even variations you can make for various types of pumpkin pie. Who knew that pumpkin could be so versatile?

You also have the option of making your own pie crust, or buying a crust at the grocery store. Now, if you want to be daring, you can make the pie completely from scratch. But, that's the beauty of baking. You don't HAVE TO. You can make it any way you want. You can make a simple pie, like a Lemon Chiffon Pie, that sounds complicated. But, it doesn't even require baking. How complicated can that be? Or, you can spend a little time relaxing and peeling apples to make our Basic Apple Pie.
