Indian Pudding



This traditional dessert has just the right texture and consistency for a tasty pudding dessert. If you want, you can add raisins or currants for a richer pudding.

Ingredients

4 cups
milk
1/2 cup molasses
1 Tbsp ginger
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp butter
3/4 cup cornmeal
1 egg, beaten
sweetened whipped cream

 

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Grease casserole dish.

Heat the milk to help blend ingredients.

Mix together the molasses, ginger and sugar.

Add molasses mixture to milk.

Add butter and pour mixture over cornmeal.

Add egg.

Mix.

Pour into the greased casserole dish.

Bake 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

Stir occasionally during the first hour.

Serves about 8.
