Chocolate Butterscotch Brownies
Butterscotch, I think, is actually a flavor that you either love or hate. And it's one of those flavors that you have to use sparingly. Otherwise, you'll be overpowered by the taste. But, mix butterscotch with something else, like oatmeal or better yet, chocolate, and you have a unique taste.
Ingredients
| 1/2 cup | butter |
| 1/2 cup | butterscotch morsels |
| 2 | eggs |
| 1/2 cup | brown sugar |
| 1/2 cup | sugar |
| 3/4 cup | flour |
| 1/2 tsp | baking powder |
| 1/8 tsp | salt |
| 1 1/2 tsp | vanilla extract |
| 1 1/2 cups | chopped walnuts |
| 1 1/2 cups | semi-sweet chocolate morsels |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 8"x8" pan.
Melt butter and butterscotch morsels in double-boiler.
Cool.
Beat eggs until light; add sugar, then add butterscotch mixture and
blend.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
Add with vanilla and nuts to butterscotch mixture.
Mix well.
Pour into greased 8x8 pan
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.
While still hot, sprinkle chocolate morsels over top.
Press down lightly.
Cool and cut.
Makes 16 squares.
