Black and White Cookies

You know that great tile pattern in old houses? My next house is going to have one of those black and white checkerboard floors in the kitchen. (or maybe the foyer). Anyway, these cookies, while not baked in a checkerboard pattern, have black and white mixing together beautifully.

The layers go one on top of the other; mixing the great chocolate and vanilla flavors together.

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted
Frosting:
1 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 Tbsp butter
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
2 Tbsp milk
