Quick & Easy Candy Recipes
This next category of my delicious desserts is always a big favorite. But, just thinking about trying to make your own tasty homemade candy can be a little scary. Worrying about the temperature. Making sure the mixture is the right consistency. Mixing the ingredients according to the recipe. All of these things are issues you'll have to deal with with doing any sort of baking. The only one that is a little different is: worrying about the temperature. And that is easily solved by using a candy thermometer. Simple as that.
Once you've got that problem solved, you ready to go ahead and start impressing your family, friends and co-workers with your incredible talent. I've done a lot more baking than candy making in my lifetime. And, early on, I seemed to think that candy can only come from the store. It was some magical process that could only be achieved by the Oompa Loompas or the Scrumptious Candy Company. (Obscure references to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, for those of you who are movie-deprived).
Anyway, making candy may take a bit longer in the preparation, because of the whole melting and temperature thing. But, it really is a lot of fun to make your own fudge or caramels.
