Desserts for Spring

Spring is almost here. No, really, it is! Trust me. Although, you wouldn't know it from our weather. While it's a little warmer today where we live, we're getting a mixture of snow and rain and there we still have snow on the ground. We are at the beginning of what is affectionately called "Mud Season" in Vermont. But, Spring will be here on March 21st. Time to gather up the springtime recipes and start baking.

Here at BakingDesserts.com we have some delicious recipes.

Easter is April 8th and there's no reason why you can't pull out your sugar cookie recipe for some tasty springtime Rolled Sugar Cookies. This also give you a chance to use some new shades of sugar sprinkles. There are some many springtime colors available, including some beautiful pastels. Try our Vanilla Frosting, if your family likes their cookies frosted, then decorated. Otherwise, just sprinkle the cookies cutouts with springtime colors and bake.

Easter is also the time for a variety of different tasty treats. You can try making Hot Cross Buns or traditional Easter Egg Bread. Or, if you're feeling particularly ambitious, try making some delicious Cinnamon Rolls or, my favorite, Italian Strufoli.

While not extremely difficult, some of these recipes will require a little time and preparation. If you're planning on making Rolled Sugar Cookies, remember they have to cool in the refrigerator for at least a few hours before you will be able to handle the dough. The other recipes may just take some extra attention while you're adding the ingredients. Read through the recipes a couple of times to make sure you have all the ingredients you need and know the steps.

Don't worry, though. Your efforts will produce some delicious treats for you and your family.
